Aloha My Hawaii Dreamers!
I am so excited to see and meet some of you for the first time in Maui at my Hawaii Wellness Retreat on September 21st-28th, with my friend and amazing yogi, Karin Kuhn.
Why host a retreat in Maui? Because it is one of the most abundant, energy-infused organically pure island in the world!
When I first thought of, creating a unique retreat experience in Maui, I wanted it to feel like you are living your retreat like a local. I wanted it to be an experience of “hanging out” while practicing yoga together, eating amazing food, staying on the North Shore, by the cute town of Paia. I’ve researched it, and lived it for you, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy!
Vibrant, high energy food will be prepared by a local chef, using local organic ingredients, picked from the trees, from local farms, that are rich in nutrients, because of the lava soil.
The yoga classes will be in a local yoga studio in the mornings and at a private house in the evenings, overlooking the ocean.
Evening presentations come to you through local people on Maui, who are passionate, with years of experience to share their knowledge and wisdom.
The accommodation list, has local options of beautiful houses, ohanas; no stuffy resort hotels!
This retreat is for everyone and all levels. The beautiful thing about a retreat is that you can do everything on the schedule or pick and choose. Retreats are just that, a retreat; an offering for you. A getaway from your everyday routine. You don’t have to cook, yoga classes are offered to you and you will be guaranteed to meet some amazing people from all over the world, who also want to live like a local on Maui.
Here are a few “Live Like A Local” recommendations when you visit Maui…Nora Style!
1. https://www.gorentacarmaui.com If you are thinking of renting a car, My #1 recommendation, is gorentacarmaui.com They are a family run and operated car rental company; Just minutes away from the OGG airport, (the one you will fly into). They have the best rates and the best cars; I can honestly say this is true, because I checked other companies out; nothing compares. They go the extra mile to accommodate your needs and make sure you have the best Maui experience possible. AND… they are yogis! Yes! I actually met the owner in a yoga class, and he overheard me saying, I needed a rental car! Maui is a small world…
2. https://manafoodsmaui.com Right around the corner from our morning yoga class, and down the street from our evening yoga class is this unique gem in the heart of Paia: Mana Foods. Mana is known for a variety of natural, organic and local products at the best prices Maui has to offer. My friend Claudia, has lots of fruit trees on her property. She walks into Mana and asks if they need any of her bananas, star apples, avocados that day, if they do, Mana buys them from her on the spot and sells them. They completely support the local community! I guarantee if you go there more than once, you will bump into someone you’ve seen before!
3. There are 81 accessible beaches on Maui, including ones with white, gold, black and red sand. It has 120 miles of accessible beaches, more than any other Hawaiian island. A lot of us locals go to Baby Beach at Baldwin Beach. It is about a 5-minute drive from our retreat house. Baby Beach is protected by a reef, so it is great for swimming and hanging out in the calm, blue ocean. Baldwin Beach is the favorite long, sandy beach for sunrise and sunset walks too! This retreat is for everyone and all levels. The beautiful thing about a retreat is that you can do everything on the schedule or pick and choose. Retreats are just that, a retreat; an offering for you. A getaway from your everyday routine.
